HOLLIS EDWARD McINTYRE, 89, of Conway, S.C., died Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2002, at Conway Hospital. Mr. McIntyre was born in Gallipolis, Ohio, a son of the late James Edward and Naomi Saunders McIntyre. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Conway and was a member of the XYZ choir. Mr. McIntyre was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and prior to retirement, he was employed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Surviving are his wife, Ruby Alice McIntyre of Conway; three daughters, Nancy Halverson and her husband Jim of Roswell, Ga., Joyce Chadwick and her husband Richmond of Alpharetta, Ga., Linda Anderson and her husband Randall of Conway; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church of Conway with Dr. Steve Hadden officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, directed by Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Bridges Fund, PO Box 415, Conway, SC 29528.
