ALGIE C. WILSON, 80, of Kenova, W.Va., died Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2002, at his home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, 2002, at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova, with Father Dan Lynch officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Valley Memory Gardens. He was born Sept. 18, 1921, in Athens, Alabama, a son of the late Algie C. and Nellie Norton Wilson. He was retired from Star-Steele Supply. Mr. Wilson was a U. S. Navy veteran having served during World War II. He was a member of American Legion Post #93 Kenova, whose members will conduct graveside rites. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Billy Jack Banfield and a sister, Gertrude Namin. He is survived by his wife, Gladys Cremeans Wilson; three daughters: Sharon Marie Wilson of California, Starr Fay Wilson of California, Sharon Kay Gilkerson of Kenova, W.Va.; two sons: Pritchard Banfield of Michigan and Bruce E. Wilson of Denver, Colo.; three sisters: Lavonia Lambert of Michigan, Kathleen Bachorek of Michigan and Cleo Delorme of Canada; one special grandson and his wife, J.R. and Rhonda Robinson of Kenova; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, 2002, at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova.
